The Natural System incorporates into the construction of its combination machines a mechanism known as the « mechanism of understanding, » designed to acquire Exact Knowledge of the workings of both the machine itself and its environmentâboth of which constitute parts of the Natural System.
The maladjustment of a combination machine is characterized as follows:
the total or partial absence, within the combination machine, of this Exact Knowledge.
The converse holds true:
Any apparently maladjusted combination machine does not possessâor no longer possessesâExact Knowledge.
UNIVERSAL PRINCIPLE:
â all maladjusted combination machines do not possessâor no longer possessâExact Knowledge.
â any total or partial absence of Exact Knowledge in a combination machine indicates a combination machine that is becoming maladjusted or is already maladjusted.
â maladjusted combination machines must be adjusted: combination machines must be adjusted.
â the successful adjustment of a maladjusted combination machine is an instruction, a constraint, and an obligation imposed by the Natural System upon the environment of that combination machine.
Application of this Natural Principle to the human being:
â when a human being does not possessâor no longer possessesâExact Knowledge, it means they are becoming maladjusted or are already maladjusted.
â when a human being is becoming maladjusted or is already maladjusted, it means they do not possessâor no longer possessâExact Knowledge. â when a human being malfunctions or falls out of alignment, they must be realigned quicklyâthey must be set right:
this is a natural directive for all machine-combinations in such situations.
Any latency or delay inevitably compels the Natural System to impose coercive reactions upon all parties involved, until the natural state is restored.
These coercive reactions are what we call psychological problems.
This is the fundamental basis of psychological problems for all machine-combinationsâincluding human beingsâand the basis for their resolution.
There is no other natural basis for psychological problems.
All other explanations are erroneous and lead to no natural resolution.
